EY Ireland announces six new partners
EY Ireland, the professional services firm, which provides assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services, has announced the appointment of six partners, bringing the total number within the Irish business to 61.
EY has promoted two new partners within its performance improvement business – Marcus Gageby and Barry McCarthy – while Niamh O’Beirne has been promoted to partner within people advisory services. EY has promoted Cork-based Seamus Downey, from within its tax division, as well as Ian Collins who heads up EY’s Research & Development team, while Feargal De Freine has also been appointed assurance (audit) partner.
Commenting on the announcement, Mike McKerr, Country Managing Partner of EY Ireland said: “These senior appointments, alongside our recent office openings and jobs announcement, reflect our confidence in the Irish economy and ambition to further accelerate growth in the years to come. These partner admissions create the next generation of leadership and enable teams to deliver exceptional service to an expanding client base throughout Ireland.”
EY has grown its workforce by over 27 per cent in the past two years, and now employs over 1,800 people across its seven offices. The company recently announced its intention to open a second office in Dublin. This will create 220 new jobs for experienced hires from various disciplines including accounting, finance, engineering, IT, consultancy and business. Another 50 graduate jobs are expected to be created on top of the 200 EY already employ each year.
