Conference on Energy Project Funding Held in Cork
A one-day conference which considered the financing of sustainable energy projects and companies in Ireland has taken place in Cork city. ‘Energy Finance for a New Era’ was hosted by Energy Cork on Thursday April 12, with more than 120 business people attending to hear from representatives of the European Investment Bank, Triodos Bank, Enterprise Ireland and more.
Efficiency financing, blockchain, corporate PPAs, project financing and innovative financial models were under discussion, with several case studies providing insights to the requirements for green energy financing options. The takeaway message from the event was that capital and funding support for sustainable energy projects is readily available for businesses, as Frank Caul, Chair of Energy Cork, suggested.
“Green energy can make a direct and big difference to a company’s bottom line, and while there is investment required, the return on investment is very significant. The Energy Cork conference today highlighted how companies and organisations can access a variety of funding sources to implement a sustainable, renewable energy strategy.”
