American Chamber of Commerce President Appointed
A new President of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland has been appointed. Barry O’Sullivan, Global Manufacturing Lead, Contact Lenses, Johnson & Johnson Vision, who was appointed Plant Manager at the Johnson & Johnson Plant in Limerick in late 2006, is to step into the role.
Since his appointment as Plant Manager at Johnson & Johnson, the plant has tripled in size to become the largest in its industry globally. In 2017, Barry was promoted to his current role, where he has responsibility for J&J’s contact lens manufacturing globally.
An American Chamber Board member since 2011, Barry is also a member of the IDA Board since 2015 and is currently Chairman of the Action Plan for Jobs for the Mid West. The American Chamber represents over 700 US multi-nationals operating in Ireland, directly employing over 160,000 high quality jobs in the Irish economy, and indirectly supporting another approximately 100,000 jobs among indigenous Irish companies.
